Information about the history of the scarlet and old gold school colors of Central Baptist Theological Seminary is not available at this time.

Central Baptist Theological Seminary does not appear in early IBAC lists from 1927 or 1948, so the IBAC may not have assigned the seminary a hood lining until the late 1940s or 1950s. A list compiled by Kevin Sheard in Academic Heraldry in America (1962) described Central Baptist’s hood lining as scarlet with two old gold chevrons, but an IBAC list from 1972 stated that the two chevrons are gold, not old gold. As the seminary described its colors as scarlet and old gold, the old gold shade has been retained here.
