Academic hood lists published by the Intercollegiate Bureau of Academic Costume (IBAC) in 1927, 1948, and 1972 described Moravian College as having a hood lined navy blue with a silver gray chevron. “Silver gray” was how the IBAC usually described a light gray or silver color. A list compiled by Kevin Sheard in Academic Heraldry in America (1962) described the college’s hood lining as navy blue with a gray chevron, without further specifying the shade of gray.
