These are the hood lining assignments cited in the entry for “Academic Costume”, written by Intercollegiate Bureau of Academic Costume president Gardner Cotrell Leonard for The Encyclopedia Americana, which was published in 1918.
Official faculty colors the Bureau had approved by 1918 are also listed.
This is a much longer list of hood lining assignments than those the Bureau had previously published in 1902 in The Argus newspaper, and in 1910-1911 in A Cyclopedia of Education.
The text of this article also says that the Bureau had assigned hood lining patterns for some foreign colleges and universities but does not describe the patterns.
