An illustration from The Degrees and Hoods of the World’s Universities and Colleges by Frank W. Haycraft (1948) of a Doctor of Music hood from American Temperance University in Tennessee, which went defunct in 1908.
A drawing of a Master of Music hood from the Detroit Institute of Musical Arts in Academic Heraldry in America by Kevin Sheard (1962). In this illustration the pink velvet edging of the hood is too reddish in tone. The Institute merged with Marygrove College in 2000. Marygrove went defunct in 2019.
