Detailed historical information about the white and old gold colors of Mount Angel Seminary is not available at this time.

Citations in the World Almanac (listed by cover date; color information is from the previous year): white/old gold (1917-1935)

Mount Angel Seminary is not cited in any records published by the Intercollegiate Bureau of Academic Costume (IBAC), so the college probably did not have an official hood lining pattern registered with the Bureau.

Lists compiled by Kevin Sheard in Academic Heraldry in America (1962) and Academic Dress and Insignia of the World (1970) described the college’s hood lining as gold with a white reversed (inverted) chevron. Here this heraldic pattern has been retained, but with the hood lined in the correct school color of old gold.
